Note: I was always doing art projects and drawing as far back as I remember. In Grade 1 (1969) in a school competition with schools around the world I came 3rd for a collage of nursery rhymes in water colours. In High School and University I loved Chemistry (creating , experimenting with chemical and compounds to get a chemical reaction, theories , proof, laws and numbers. Kinda like cooking. I did well in Biology but the highlight for me was doing the biological drawing of plants, anatomy and specimens; the only thing I liked about Biology. Started oil painting in University in 1980. In 1983, an English major friend of mine talked me into taking one of my elective courses with her. It was a second year Classics course in Roman & Greek Mythology, Architecture, Literature & Poetry. Instead of writng a 5000 word term paper, the professor said I could do a painting instead. I did an oil painting with pallet knives. The context of the painting was of A Dog Hell Demon from the Greek Underworld breaking away from Hades to the Earth Plains to the realm of the living. A got an A+ mark for the painting. I knew then that the “Arts” were where my future. I have always enjoyed working with my hands.

Founded in 1928, it serves a catchment area of roughly 250,000 people and offers vital rural healthcare, midwifery training, and outbreak response.
